IAS Salary : Why IAS salary is Low?

IAS SALARY : Why IAS Salary Might Appear Lower Than Expected

IAS Salary: why IAS salary is low

I agree that money is not the only factor in life, and I’m not trying to be a sap; I’m simply putting some facts about IAS salary.

I’ve read IAS officials’ blogs and many of their Quora answers, which have provided insight into their personal lives. They serve society and individuals with great happiness, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be able to live lives outside of the middle class. One of the IAS officers said in a post that he doesn’t have enough money to purchase a home in the affluent part of his community despite all the years of service. That horrified me now.

Although there is always a disparity, that is what I am pointing out IAS Salary. It is never about money.

I have not requested that they be compensated in crores or lakhs, but rather in a manner commensurate with a person of their rank. In today’s world, INR 50000 per month is ludicrous. And it’s not even a demand; I was just looking through some data and figures when this struck me why IAS salary is low.

They labor for society and may have all the benefits in the world, but does that imply they should not be compensated? Every other officer of their rank is paid more than they are. At the end of the day, he has a family where he has to put his children in good schools, enroll them in good courses, and provide a decent life for his family, but if he has to struggle his way even after being the said class A officer and that too being the most coveted post, then something is wrong somewhere.

I’ve read posts in which an IAS officer claims that he must travel in sleeper class in order to save money for his child’s schooling. Tell me if that’s fair  about IAS salary.

If it’s all about satisfaction and serving others, they might not get paid as much since, given their power, status, and advantages, what does IAS salary have to do with anything?

And, by the way, who works for money in the first place? *Actors – They select their profession because they are passionate about acting and enjoy their work. *Doctors – They chose their profession because they want to alleviate people’s sufferings and for the enjoyment it provides them.
